Using a Device Handler to Pair your SMART+ Contact and Temperature Sensor to SmartThings

If you are trying to pair your SYLVANIA SMART+ Contact and Temperature Sensor to SmartThings, and it connects as a “Thing,” you will need to follow a few extra steps in order to get your light to pair and function properly. Use the link below to follow the PDF instructions on pairing your contact sensor.

If you are already familiar with this process, you can simply cope and paste the code below to create a new Device Handler.

When adding this device handler to my IDE I get the following error:

Org.codehaus.groovy.control.MultipleCompilationErrorsException: startup failed: script_dth_metadata_6adc05cb_0ee1_4d03_827b_c100a8adc879: 69: unexpected token: } @ line 69, column 1. } ^ 1 error

I have the same problem…did you get any resolution?

I have same problem too, anybody resolve that issue?

I’m having the same issue as above. Can anyone help debug this custom handler?

Or is anyone having any luck with a different handler? I’ve read that “SmartSense Open/Closed Sensor” is supposed to work for this device, but that handler doesn’t read the device at all for me. a4refillpad’s “Orvibo Contact Sensor” reads the correct open/closed state, but not battery or temperature.
